“I never thought I’d see this sad day come,” said Pittsburgh resident Mary Stephens. There are Nazi SS troops on every corner here. It’s really terrifying!”
U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner expressed optimism that the new “Financial Stability Board “ would emerge as the “fourth pillar” of the financial world architecture along with the World Bank, IMF, and World Trade Organization. Unfortunately, Mr. Geithner failed to mention that it has been these very same organizations that have deeply indebted scores of poor nations and wrecked their economies with “laissez-faire” policies favoring large scale capitalist restructuring that is unsustainable. Somalia is a good example. Years ago Somalia had a sustainable economy based on farming and herding with barter and trade until the World Bank and IMF destroyed their healthy way of life. Once Somalia was captured and imprisoned with massive debt, the World Bank and IMF forced them to produce and sell crops for export income to repay their debt instead of feeding their own people.
Traveling around downtown Pittsburgh for 4 days, thousands of military-style guards-men were everywhere. It was a virtual prison-style crackdown,– a serious practice-run to capture future political dissidents and lock them away in wilderness FEMA camps. Thomas Jefferson’s admonition to We the People was long forgotten in Steel City: “Dissidence is the highest form of patriotism,” Jefferson said.
The vast majority of this military operation was overkill because these peace protesters were mild at worst and lame milk-toast peaceniks at best. Several dumpsters got turned over and rolled down a hill by the protesters. The police countered with tear gas and plastic bullets. There was one horrible, unforgettable incident committed by the police. One tiny, 125 lb female college student got slammed in the face with a Billy-club by a 250 lb cop. I’m sure she will be suing this violent man.
On Saturday night, the Pittsburgh police brought their very own traveling circus to the Carnegie Melon Campus on Forbes St. Eight Hours after the G20 Summit had wrapped up their business affairs and departed, 500 over-zealous police were still gearing up for a major military battle.
At the stroke of midnight, hundreds and hundreds of riot-armed police marched forth in long combat lines to receive their military orders. In smart fashion they quickly maneuvered into a strategic quadrangle to surround 250 loitering students who weren’t even protesting. Strident orders were issued from a commanding officer. Four long lines of black-clad Darth Vader-like storm troopers rapidly moved forward to crush and capture a bunch of peaceful, innocent college students who were hanging out on a mild, fall evening.
Obviously, these over-the-top testosterone driven soldiers were engaged in a war-boy practice mission. This simulated war-games’ operation was carried out in a very tight, precise, military style execution. As these SS dressed troops rapidly advanced, 200 Students panicked and fled to be avoid being arrested or having their heads smashed. As they dashed up the only open escape road, a hundred black-clad monsters suddenly emerged from the mist above to cut us off. This outer ring of secret police was devastating. We were screwed and we all knew it. Soon, every possible escape had vanished. It was survival of the fittest,–every male and female student for himself. Few escaped! Over 90 students were hit, tackled, pepper sprayed, knocked to the ground, and corralled.
Rounded up, hand cuffed, and arrested,–these lost and helpless sheep were loaded into multiple patty wagons and carted off to jail to be booked. At a very long night’s end, only one salient question remained. Why perpetrate a Nazi-style, SS, storm-trooper operation on a bunch of peaceful, totally innocent, milling around students?
On second thought Pittsburgh, don’t ask that question because you really don’t want to know the truth. Just go drink shooters and beers and watch the Steelers kick butt.
